  1. Eyes: The eyes should look about six to eight inches above the camera lens. This thins out the upper eyelid and gives sparkle to the eyes.
  2. Model Eyes: The eyes, rather than stop at the camera, should stare beyond the camera. Look at the newspaper and observe the “far away” look of the models who do this.
  3. Mouth, Smile: The ideal smile occurs when the top teeth just touch the bottom lip. Smile problem: Smile reveals top gum. Solution: Have the subject press the tongue firmly against the bottom of the inside gum. In a serious pose, the lips should just touch together—no pressing or biting of lips.
