QUOTE FROM “IN ESCAPE TO PAST...” ARTICLE

The busful of magicians was en route to a gravesite in Queens. Their mission: A tribute to Harry Houdini on the 46th anniversary of his death. Edward Mishell, national president of the Society of American Magicians, was asked: “Who’s the greatest magician today?” And Mr. Mishell replied:

“You speak to this bus, and you say, ‘Will the greatest magician in the world please rise?’...You’ll see nothing but empty seats.”
