DOCTOR, BROTHER OF HOUDINI, IS KILLED IN PLUNGE UPTOWN

Dr. Leopold D. Weiss, a radiologist and the youngest brother of Harry Houdini, the magician, was killed last night when he jumped or fell from the roof of his apartment house in the Inwood section of Upper Manhattan.

Dr. Weiss, who was 83 years old, was an 1899 graduate of what was then known as University and Bellevue Hospital. He retired from active practice in 1949 because of failing eyesight. He occupied a ground-floor apartment in the six-story building at 57 Park Terrace West.

Houdini, whose real name was Ehrich Weiss, died in 1926. He was noted for daring escapes from manacles and steel cabinets.
