SAYS SPIRITISM FAILS

Mrs. Houdini Cannot Establish Contact with Husband’s Spirit

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 11 (AP)–Mrs. Harry Houdini, widow of the magician, said today that after ten years of trying to establish contact with the spirit of her husband she felt that she had proved there was nothing to spiritism.

The magician and his wife agreed to try the experiment when one of them died.

“I tried to contact Harry for ten years after his death and nothing happened,” she said. “After the last séance almost two years ago I stopped trying.”

Mrs. Houdini stopped here on a trip to Florida.
