MRS. HOUDINI ABANDONS FAITH IN MESSAGE FROM DEAD HUSBAND

MIAMI, Fla., March 18 (AP)–Mrs. Harry Houdini, widow of the magician, said today she had abandoned hope of communicating with her husband in the spirit world.

She said that for three years she had sought to penetrate beyond the grave and communicate with her husband, but had now renounced faith in such a possibility.

When Mr. Houdini died, Mrs. Houdini said that she and her husband had formed a compact by which he was to communicate with her, if possible, from the spirit world.

Numerous attempts to convince Mrs. Houdini that her husband is communicating through a medium were made, she said, but she steadfastly denied that any of the mediums presented the clue by which she was to recognize a legitimate message.
