CAN’T FIND HOUDINI WILL

Wife Gets Court Order to Open Safe Deposit Boxes

Although a search has been made for the will of Harry Houdini, magician, who died in Detroit on Oct. 31, it has not yet been found. This was made known yesterday when Surrogate O’Brien signed an order permitting the magician’s wife, Mrs. Wilhelmina Rahner Houdini of 278 West 113th Street to open safe deposit boxes held in her husband’s name in the hope of finding the will.

Houdini had such boxes in the vaults of the Manufacturers’ Safe Deposit Company and the Lincoln Safe Deposit Company. These will be opened in the presence of a representative of each banking house and of the State Tax Commission. The Surrogate’s order precludes the removal of any papers other than a will.
