Perry Iman, a former La Roche College security guard, surrendered to McCandless police April 5 in connection with five bomb threats made to the school since December.
After confessing to McCandless police, Iman, 38, of Butler, was charged with five counts of making false alarms, five counts of filing a false police report and one count of harassment by communication, according to the North Hills News Record.
No motive for the bomb threats was given.
Iman, a former Evans City police officer, began working at La Roche last year and resigned in January.
Police questioned Iman March 30 after La Roche employees said they recognized his distinct voice on a recording of a call made the previous day to Ross police, according to the News Record, which obtained the information from an affidavit filed in McCandless district court.
Police officials told the News Record that Iman allegedly made bomb threats over a four-month period.
The first threat occurred on Dec. 14, when Iman allegedly called McCandless police, claiming two bombs were set to go off in the Kerr Fitness and Sports Center gymnasium in two hours.
Police again were called Jan. 11 with a similar threat.
On Jan. 25, the La Roche switchboard received a call, and on March 22, a fourth threat was called in to police, in which the caller claimed there was a bomb on campus but didnt elaborate, according to the News Record.
The last call, which occurred March 29, was recorded at Ross police dispatch center. Iman allegedly made the threat from a public phone in the North Hills.
No bombs were located and no on was injured, although each call led to the evacuation of buildings, reported the News Record.
Iman, who has no criminal history, was released from police custody. He was ordered to stay off the La Roche campus and not to contact school faculty or administrators, according to the News Record.
Imans preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 19 in McCandless district court.
Attempts to reach Iman for comment were unsuccessful.
