TO OUR STOCKHOLDERS

We founded Ansoft with a vision that electromagnetic analysis would one day become a commonplace electronic design automation (EDA) tool used throughout the engineering community. At that time, solving electromagnetic (EM) problems was limited and impractical.

To tackle this challenge, we developed a series of breakthrough technologies and products designed to analyze EM issues from DC (low frequency) to daylight (high frequency). From electric motors to high-speed communication systems, and a host of applications in between, Ansoft’s tools have become the industry standard for electromagnetic design.

Ansoft continues to adapt to the changing climate through innovative thinking and persistent hard work. In spite of the economic recession in the technology sector in fiscal year 2002, Ansoft achieved another record financial year.

Our revenue in fiscal 2002 totaled $53.4 million, an increase of 23 percent over the prior year. Within the fiscal year, we made significant progress with all of our product lines and introduced several new breakthrough technologies:

  • HFSS—ten-fold increase in the complexity of designs solved with 64-bit architecture.
  • Ansoft Designer—revolutionary new software that engineers use to design communication systems, high-frequency integrated circuits (ICs), high-density printed circuit boards (PCBs), and high-frequency components.
  • SIwave—the newest product in our Signal Integrity (SI) line for addressing the needs of digital designers, including the efficient and accurate analysis of complex power and ground structures within PCBs and IC packages.
  • Ansoft EM—the all-inclusive Simplorer and Maxwell product offering, providing complete solutions for power electronics and automotive systems.
